The idea of this exhibition piece was surrounding visitors in Singapore. It is a fact that these visitors, arrived in our little island and were fundamental in bringing Singapore to where we are today. They are the Building Blocks of Singapore.
On the table lies a bunch of wooden blocks, each with a name and a country on them. These blocks are representative of the few building blocks of our nation. Without these foreign workers, the skyscrapers we work in, the stadiums where we exercise, and the huge malls where we shop would have never been what they are today.
The blocks were prepared and sanded to create a smooth finish. Designs were prepared on Illustrator and sent to the Laser Cutter for engraving.
